Mission

In order to inspire and enable the banking community, members and social dialogue partners to maintain cooperative relationships, access to best practices, legislative stability, being a voice in the national but also European financial - banking system, we act by supporting social dialogue, trust in the Romanian banking system, financial inclusion and consumer protection, digitization, promoting fair competition and ethical governance.

The world we live in is changing rapidly as digital technology gives access to smart and accessible banking services, and CPBR as an active representative of the banking system, is responsible for supporting access to professional training, respecting the interests of consumers, community development and public partnership- private through the application of ethical governance and balanced legislation.

Among the important objectives of CPBR are the following:

  • to promote communication, cooperation and social dialogue with national and international entities relevant to the financial-banking system, including the Romanian Government and Parliament;
  • to maintain an open and constructive dialogue with social partners to support social stability and the prosperity of society;
  • to contribute to the increase of professional standards and the implementation of the best practices applicable in the banking system;

  • to issue objective advisory opinions regarding the normative or regulatory acts aimed at the activity of the banking sector;
  • to contribute to a stable and predictable legislative framework with the aim of supporting a process of sustainable development of the banking market but also of increasing customer confidence in banking products and services;
  • to promote fair competition and compliance with the relevant legislation through actions to raise awareness on the banking market of good practices in the field;
  • to collaborate with public authorities and consumer associations in order to implement and apply a national legal framework in the spirit of European directives for consumer protection;
  • to support the digitization and modernization of public institutions to simplify access to public services and increase the efficiency of administrative processes in the interest of society.
