CPBR activity

The importance of the organization as an employer structure (in contrast to professional associations) resides in the fact that according to the law of social dialogue, representative employer and trade union organizations are the only ones guaranteed by law to be consulted by public authorities (Government, Parliament, etc.) in the process of elaboration of normative and legislative acts.

As for the social dimension of dialogue, it includes all types of negotiation, consultation and simple exchange of information between representatives of public authorities, employers and employees, on issues of common interest related to labor law, economic and social policy. It can exist as a tripartite process, with the authorities as an official part of the dialogue, or it can consist of bipartite relations between unions and employers.

The main purpose of social dialogue is to promote consensus building and democratic engagement among parties in the world of work. Successful social dialogue processes have the potential to solve important economic and social problems, encourage good governance, promote social peace and stability, and stimulate economic progress.

Through its activity as a participant in the social dialogue representing the employer part of the banking sector according to the legislation in force, CPBR has been contributing for 10 years to a balanced communication in the world of work, with the aim of supporting economic and financial development, but also inclusion and social stability.

As an employer organization, CPBR emphasizes the representation of the interests of member banks both in relation to the relevant public authorities and to the legislative process of normative acts impacting the banking sector. CPBR supports a balanced approach in the legislative process so as to ensure a stable and predictable legislative framework for all parties involved in order to continue the process of sustainable development of the banking market but also to increase customer confidence in banking products and services.

CPBR aims to apply good European practices through various programs to encourage access to professional training, adapt to the transformations generated by digital progress and monitor the legislative process, as well as ensure an inclusive and balanced work climate.

CPBR and its members uphold integrity, good corporate governance and high ethical standards in all of their work.

CPBR and its members support fair competition and compliance with relevant legislation, including through actions to raise awareness at the market level, among its members and unions, of the importance of competition regulations and best practices in the field.

CPBR is actively involved in the legislative process regarding consumer protection so that it is as balanced as possible but also in line with the European legal framework and the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union. CPBR is a dialogue partner that constantly shows its willingness to work with public authorities and consumer associations in order to implement in the national legal framework the European directives in the spirit and letter in which they were issued.

Considering the experience and resources existing in the banking system regarding the digitization of IT processes and systems, CPBR shows a constant openness to support the state authorities in the development and implementation of an appropriate legislative framework and the application of best practices, to facilitate the digitization process of Romania.

CPBR and its members support the digitization and modernization of public institutions in Romania to simplify access to public services and increase the efficiency of administrative processes in the interest of society.

Financial inclusion does not only mean adding new customers to the banking system in order to make their lives easier and serve the purpose of the banks' existence, but also means taking seriously the responsibilities deriving from this activity by providing products and services that can really support both customers natural persons as well as legal persons. CPBR member banks constantly have in mind, in addition to their own financial development, the benefit of their customers, the final result pursued being that of a long-term sustainable economic development of Romania.
